For recovery coaches, peer support specialists, clinical teams and alumni staff who provide peer recovery education and discuss substance-use risks with clients and communities. Robert Lawlor and Anna Gasinski examine toxicology, case and drug-sample evidence, limitations of presumptive testing, and how to communicate uncertainty without repeating unsupported claims.
Skip it if you need alumni program management, referral marketing or clinical toxicology certification. The alumni fit is peer education and community conversations; credit eligibility remains specific to the Nevada approvals listed below.

Support a handoff from treatment
Choose the session on how peers work alongside treatment teams. Bring a question about the peer role in a referral or transition; keep clinical treatment decisions with the responsible clinicians.
Choose the cannabis-fentanyl session for conversations about evidence and uncertainty. Its community-education focus is different from a coaching-skills workshop or clinical toxicology qualification.
Compare peer practice and community education separately. The Nevada credit approvals shown in the full reviews do not establish eligibility for every peer credential or jurisdiction.

A free recording or a clinical CE certificate does not automatically count toward a peer credential. Confirm the certifying body, topic or ethics designation, accepted format and certificate requirements. These resources do not replace initial peer-support certification.
Free viewing can also carry a credit fee: NAADAC’s general webinar FAQ distinguishes free viewing from member/nonmember CE access. Check the specific series.
These are education sources, not additional upcoming-webinar counts or calendar picks. We reviewed public pages and enrollment conditions, not completed courses or issued certificates. Looking for clinical counselor credit instead? See the counselor ethics CE guide.
Choose education that fits your peer support role
Start with the work you do alongside someone: building trust, supporting their recovery goals, connecting them with services or working with a treatment team. Look for practical examples and a clear audience. A clinical prescribing lecture or an alumni marketing workshop may address a different responsibility.
Job titles and certification requirements vary. A webinar can develop your practice without meeting the training or continuing education requirements for your credential. Check the named board, eligible role, attendance requirements and any fee before relying on credit. A promised recording does not establish replay access or replay credit.
Engagement and recovery goals
Look for person-centered approaches that respect individual recovery choices. Check whether examples concern support during treatment, transitions between services or longer-term recovery.
Boundaries and teamwork
Choose sessions that explain the peer role, responsibilities and handoffs with clinical colleagues. General clinical education does not automatically qualify as peer practice training.
Credible community education
Use evidence-focused sessions to improve conversations about substance use and recovery. Keep uncertainty and the limits of the evidence visible when sharing what you learn.
Questions to take into the session
Does the agenda address recovery coaching or peer support practice?
How will the session help with engagement, professional boundaries or collaboration?
Does the stated credit apply to my credential and jurisdiction?
