Before you start

Three checks.
One useful hour.

  1. Your credential. Check the host’s counselor approval and your board’s rules. NBCC’s NCC guidance is distinct from state licensure.
  2. Your requirement. Confirm ethics designation, self-study limits and expiry. A social-work ethics statement does not establish counselor ethics credit.
  3. Your certificate. Complete the host’s viewing, quiz and evaluation steps; save the certificate. Host-listed free CE is not a certificate issued by Hour Well Spent.

Two common questions

Does a free webinar always include free CE?

No. Free viewing and free credit are separate. We checked the $0 TPN listings and the Growing Self free offer that explicitly includes NBCC hours. Confirm the current course terms before enrolling; a free account does not make every host course free.

Do recordings count as live CE?

These options are recordings. Do not use them to satisfy a live-attendance requirement without confirmation from your credentialing authority. On-demand CE can have different completion and eligibility rules.
